FRC TEAM #5648 MELBOURNE ROBOCATS
REVOLUTIONIZING THE FUTURE OF GIRLS IN STEM & ROBOTICS

Building Strong Females for the World
Welcome to Melbourne RoboCats 5648 Robotics

Our Story
Founded in 2014, Melbourne RoboCats 5648 was established to inspire young people aged 13-18years of age, to be science and technology leaders and innovators by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering, and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.
The girls’ aspirations are to inspire, encourage and empower young girls/women in STEAM in the community, collaborate with other STEM clubs/teams, our industry mentors and sponsors/stakeholders to continue to spread this amazing sport throughout Australia.
FRC Team #5648 Melbourne RoboCats team is an All-Female FIRST Robotics Competition community team with 15-18 students from schools all over Melbourne, who come together to design, build, and create amazing robots to compete at the FIRST Robotics Competition in NSW and World Championship in Houston, Texas USA.
Our team strives to excel in all facets of the program, from competitive success to community presence. We work towards building the most competitive robot possible and creating the most robust matched strategy, in addition to qualifying for other technical and non-technical awards, including learning the process of teamwork, building life-long friendships and connections, as a team in the local community and Global cohort of like-minded individuals who aspire to achieve high levels of achievements, whilst keeping Professionalism and Ethical behaviour at the highest through the Core values of FIRST Gracious Professionalism®.
Through a rewarding and enriching program, we aim to maximize the creative and intelligent capacity of the students, challenging them to grow their skills and confidence to achieve feats they never thought possible.
No previous skills are required to join the program – just curiosity, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. Training, support and guidance are provided by RoboCats technical staff, teachers and industry mentors.
